The Yellowstone Flying Club is a Montana non-profit, we want to provide safe flying to those in the community with our aircraft located at the Billings airport (KBIL). The Yellowstone Flying Club is run by members for members. One thing that you will find at the flying club is that we try and keep our rates as low as possible. When you buy into the club you immediately become a part owner of our two aircraft. Because you are an owner of the planes the club provides insurance that covers you as the owner of the aircraft. so you don't have to get your own insurance when joining the club. One of the advantages of the flying club is that we share the cost of flying and maintaining the aircraft. We also have a list of instructors that are familiar with the club's airplanes to help you get back into the sky safely.
So why join the club and not rent?
We have easy web-based scheduling so you can fly when you want to fly.
Insurance that covers you as the aircraft owner. When you rent you have to buy insurance.
You get a "say" in how to club is run. Our club is run by pilots for the pilots and we strive to make it safe for all pilots in the club to fly.
You have access to instructors, even though we provide you with names and numbers of instructors they are still independent contractors.
As a non-profit every dollar that we take in from the dues to aircraft rental fees, we put back into the club.
We have a heated hangar which make winter flying much more enjoyable.
