How does the Yellowstone Flying Club work?
The Yelloswsont Flying Club is a Montana non-profit meaning that all the money that is put into the club stays in the club. The airplanes in the Club are owned by the members of the club.
The initial buy-in to the club is $3,000 dollars this makes you an equal equity owner in our aircraft. There is also a $200 one-time administrative fee. There is a $180 monthly fee that is used for the overhead costs of the airplanes. Then the hourly rate of the airplanes is for the cost of operating the airplanes.
Where can I take the airplanes?
There are not many restrictions on where you can take the airplanes the only rule is that back-country flying is not allowed. This means that you are only allowed to land at airports with paved runways that are suitable for landing.
What are the pilot requirements?
In general there are no requirements as long as you are a certified pilot. The only requirement that is different for the two airplanes is that you have to have a high-performance endorsement to fly the 182.
Can my CFI friend instruct me?
No, all of the instructors have to be approved by the club's safety director. The club does have a list of approved instructors that you can choose from for instruction.
